The only thing that makes magic different than some other art form is that it has secrets .......

Well there is that, and then there is the "please love me please love me please," factor, I'm not saying it doesn't exist in other art forms, but magic takes the cake for loneliness.

Sorry to disagree, Stuart, but you obviously don't know that many actors, mimes or musicians. Smile If you want to see real "lovemelovemelovemelovemelovemeloveme" neediness, check anywhere where any of those folks happen to be, especially when they are the only one of their profession around "mundanes."

Trust me, magicians have got NOTHING on actors, most of the time! Absolutely NO doubt about it, either. Even the actors will admit to that.

As an actor....I don't think I need the aforementioned "love me" factor...but I acknowledge there are some that do.

But in my experience they are few and far between, the stereotypical image of actors (and indeed anyone of in the performing arts industry) of being self-centered, egotistical 'luvies' has long since become out of date.

Yes, there are some prima donnas out there, but far far FAR fewer than perhaps the media or some people would have you beleive.

I wonder what would happen if the masked magician was locked in a room full of magicians, ex. Copperfield, Burton, and others.

That will be like putting Osama Bin Laden in a room full of Americans, or a 5-year old boy in a room filled with images of Micheal Jackson.

I liken it to putting Osama Bin Laden in a roomful of Army Special Forces Troops, Navy Seals, and Air Force commandos. :0

Well there would be no masked magician if it weren't for a network. Those shows aren't cheap to produce and Valentino was such a third rate two bit magician he could have never afforded to produce them himself. Fox seems determined to expose all of magic, guess somebody on the programming staff was scared by a magician at their 3rd birthday party of something. They have been exposing magic since the first trick was ever done, and I doubt it will stop anytime soon.

Photius, I haven't seen anything on TV that hints the signs of the evil masked Magcian's return.

The less magicians talk about it the less likely it will happen; we made a big mistake the last time and let Fox take advantage of our fury over the series.

Sometimes silence and secrecy speaks louder than words.

It was silence and secrecy that made King James and the other rulers scorn and condem magicians.

Maybe so, but King James didn't take our energy and profit from it by advertising our dissatisfaction across the land to better his ratings...Fox did.
