They say he's leaving The Tropicana and moving to The Stardust.

I saw RT at the Tropicana about 1 year ago. Pretty good show. I wonder what the Stardust will have to offer to get him there? Bigger venue? More $$$? Any rumors out there?

Rick has always stated that as much as he enjoys performing at the Tropicana; he is really not fond of having to share the stage with another show. It makes it very difficult every day to have to pack everything up and move it so the other show can prepare. So if anyone offers him his own theater and a good salary; I bet he'll take it.

Well I guess that's good for Rick; although I'm surprised he has agreed to share a theater again. Sounds good for him though; I'll be sure to see it!

If you read the article in the Las Vegas papers, it seems that the main reason Rick is moving is the uncertainity of the Tropicana. The article says he still will be sharing space at the Stardust. He took the move because he wanted the sure thing. Go to Meir Yedid's Magic Times to get the link to the entire article.
I just hope moving the Stardust doesn't hurt business. It is a little harder to get to than the Trop.

The Stardust is not hard to get to at all further up the strip but harder to get to it is not. Just as it is not hard to get to the Venetian,Ceasars Palace, Belliago, Bally's etc,,,,,

But it is farther from the most popular sections of the strip. I saw Thomas only because I spent more time at that end of the strip - I had not ever heard of him before.
That's how I saw it, anyway.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

A few things:
1. That "end" of the strip is going to get hot. Wynn Las Vegas is driving that. In a few years, Borgata West will be there, and some newer hotels. I'd speculate that the Frontier is on it's way out. 2. It's very likely that the Tropicana is going to be knocked down and something else put up. 3. Rick Thomas puts on a fabulous show. Congrats to him on his hard earned success. |

I suppose it will then be called the "New New Frontier" As for the Trop nothing has been announced about the plans for that yet just a lot of talk. yes that end of the strip is going to start growing as well. Now if they would just get rid of the stupid Fremont street experiance and really work on getting the down town area cleaned up. |

I think the Trop is going to be gone within the year.
