The 3000th member is Steel.

The funny thing is that if you look at the stats only 1,743 people have EVER posted anything. That's counting the hundreds of people who have asked one question and never posted again. I'd say probably 1/3rd of the Café talks to each other regularly, 1/3rd lurks and probably 1/3rd of the people made an account and then never came back.

Don't forget the people who have more than one identity here. In a group this large, there must be some people who have registered twice.

Regardless of the breakout, or the fact that there may be schizophrenics among us with multiple online personalities...it's really a testament to Steve and his vision that in less than a year, and primarily by word of mouth only, the board has more than 3000 registered users. Even if you allow for a 10% overlap, that's still 2700 users from every continent around the world.

And these magi and those interested in magic have come together to share insights, opinions, and some pretty bad one-liners (there's *gotta* be a reason for all the smilies at the bottom of the page). At the risk of going off into a paean to Bro. Steve...nobody else had done this as well before on such an all-inclusive scale.

So congrats to him...and to us, as well; we're the ones who've helped make Steve's vision a reality.
