Hey there. This is my first posting on TMC, so first I want to say thank you for the opportunity to gain knowledge from all the other crazy people like me who are so into seeing that look of confusion on other peoples faces. I have a show to do this Saturday, but it's been quite a while since my last performance and I noticed that my close up pad is looking a little dingy. Is there any reason I couldn't lay it on the floor of my bathtub and wash it with a little warm soapy water, maybe even give it a light scrub with some kind of soft brush, and then hang it to dry? It's your basic "large mousepad" type of pad, if that matters. Or are there any other better suggestions? I'd appreciate any response on this subject that I can get! Thanks!

I think you can use a small amount of soap and water on most close-up pads. I recently invested in a "Trevor Duffy" close-up pad, which you can throw in the washing machine, clean with soap & water, it's great. That's my suggestion for the future. I've only had mine a few months, but it's doing great so far!

Try a lint brush and then try replacing it once in a while. They aren't meant to last forever.
