Do you ever perform coins durring walk around magic?

Hi Brian,
There are three coin tricks I do pretty regularly - the coins-to-glass routine in NATURAL SELECTIONS called MONEY FLIES (though not always in its entirety); a beautiful little transformation of a piece of foil into a quarter called FRESH MINT (from OPEN TRAVELLER and RANDOM ACTS OF MAGIC); and SPARE CHANGE, a penny-and-dime transposition routine I marketed through the Camirand Academy about 10 years ago. I also used to do a trick called QUARTERMAIN a lot, in which three borrowed quarters penetrate a deck of cards that is resting on the mouth of a drinking glass. I put it on the market in 1984 through Perfect Magic, but it was later reprinted in NATURAL SELECTIONS, VOLUME II. |

Do you use coin gaffs? If yes, whats your favourites?
I love coin shells, myself. Which is the best coin routine you have seen, ever? |

Hi Kjellstrom,
I am currently employing a special gaff that looks like a half dollar from one side and a piece of rope from the other. Other than that, the only gimmicked coins I use are the ones that come with my aforementioned routine, SPARE CHANGE (it's a copper/silver dime-and-penny with a penny shell that doesn't lock). Finally, the best coin routine I've ever seen is without a doubt Gary Kurtz's eye-popping, mind-bending, paradigm-shifting FLURIOUS, which of course was published in UNEXPLAINABLE ACTS (Kaufman, 1990).
