Is there any type of fog or anything that looks the same that can fill a large box with a performer in it? I want the be in a crystal box and fill it with smoke/fog, have an assistant open the box, and I would be gone. Normal fog from fog machines smell bad and I don't think it would be safe to breath in. Any ideas?

Most magicians just use the average fog machines because the fog is dense and difficult to see through. You could try experimenting with CO2 but be prepared to open your pocket book.

The thing to remember with dry ice (CO2) is that you reduce the amout of oxygen you only need to drop a few percent to risk passing out, so there is a safety concern.
It is also heavy so will hug the floor rather than fill the box, you should legally be entitled to see the MSDS (Medical safety data sheet) for the fog/smoke liquid, though much better to ask rather than get all legal! This should tell you any safety issues. Try posting this on the FX board they may have knowledge |

Make sure you get a "fogjuice" that is water based, [although I think most are] These should be fine to breath. I used this in my band and it was fine. You can also get it "sented" to many flavors that smell great!!!!

Standard fog is safe to breath, just make sure you don't over do it that you don't have any oxygen. but fog is safe to breath.

I've seen a product in a tall spray can called Magicians Smoke. Don't know how safe it is, read the lable, but may be an inexpensive and convenient way to achieve your need. Rick
