I believe this Butterfly effect is the same as Astrospere. I may be wrong, but definatly look into it. Most dealers carry it or are able to obtain it for you.

Hope this helps!

"Butterfly" and Zombie have only one thing in common, and that is the silver ball ( so if you use a gold zombie, they are completely different!).

Other wise the effect and method are completely different.

The zombie of course uses an opaque cloth and the Butterfly is totally transparent.

The zombie most probably allows more freedom of movement, although the Butterfly can float on both sides of the cloth and away from the cloth ( right down to the floor, or above the cloth for example).

The Butterfly seems to be the European version of Astrophere ( I originally bought my from a Hungarian dealer - Jupiter who I believe makes these himself???).
The quality is extremely high, although I cannot compare with the Astrophere. Astrophere just seems so cheap in comparison?

Neither of the videos above do justice to the beauty of either the Butterfly or the dancing cane, the latter being a very rushed presentation - and am I decieved or does the cane fold down at the end?

Thank you Matt and LeeAlex2002 for the information. I think, I got the idea. LeeAlex2002 how do you like the butterfly and can't it be performed close up or surrounded? It deceives me with the transparent cloth. Thank you again.

I first saw the demonstration live many years ago at a covention stand.
Taking into account that the lighting was only natural, and the dealer was only behind his stand, and I stood in front, then yes I would say that this could be performed in a close-up situation.

There is however a set up for the Butterfly which may lead it to be more of a stage effect ( ie. in a close-up situation your routine may not allow for the set up time).

Both the zombie and the Butterfly work well when they have been properly choreographed ( unlike in the video shown!), and so once again I would suggest that this leads to be more of a stage effect.

I believe there is a min Astrophere available?

If you are looking for a close-up floating effect, you may want to consider Lite Flite, although once again this is best done with the right lighting for the floating light to be seen at its full advantage.

Having said all the above, there is no reason why the Butterfly could not be performed surrounded ( I used to perform this on a cruise ship with the audience on all sides, and walking to various points close-up to the spectators).

Lee Alex

Hi guys!

Just wanted to jump in here and suggest the book by Ralph Wichmann. In it, he gives you an alternative hookup (not attached to the cloth) called the One-Point hookup (not the same as the one-point with I.T.), that will take Astrosphere to new heights (pun intended!)...

Here is the only place I can find (thru Google search) that sells this:

Hope this helps!

Hank Lee has it!

http://www.hanklee.org/xcart/customer/pr......;page=28

Now...look at the price...$16.50!!! That's $3.50 less than I paid for it years ago!

Your Astrosphere routine will astound! If you DO get this book, I'd like to hear your take on these routines...
