Iwas wondering if you can help..... I perform Hypnosis at private parties, but to perform at public events in the UK you need Public Liability Insurance! Anyone got any info Thanks In Advance Mark |

At this present time there is no company which will insure stage hypnosis apart from protection of the property on the venue. Equity the actors union is trying to find one...
However there are a few of the big names still doing the rounds I wonder where they get their insurance? |

What are they afraid of, law suits from audience members saying they've been psychologically scarred??

Exactly. It's complete rubbish, that's why the likes of Derren Brown call light trance "synchronicity"

It may be complete rubbish but there has been more than one high profile law suit in the UK where hypnotists have been sued for allegedly causing mental illness.
Going to law is an expensive business, especially when defending yourself. And guess who picks up the bill? The insurer. |

It is odd that a magician forcing a card is entertainment. An entertainer forcing a thought is messing with peoples' minds. Remember that a lawyer refers to a jury as twelve people of ordinary ignorance! It is not a gamble you can win.
