Hello,
There is a building that has only two rooms, a upstairs and down stairs. In the down stairs room there is three light switches on a wall. In the upstairs room there are three light bulbs that hang from the ceiling. Each switch down stairs turns on a different light bulb up stairs. Your job is to figure out what switch , works what light bulb. The catch is!! You can only go upstairs once to check your self. You can only turn one switch on at a time You work alone No mirrors and thing of that such! Light bulbs () () () ------------------- Switches / / / Good Luck!! |

I'm guessing you don't on one switch then turn another one on and wait a couple of minutes to make sure one bulb is really hot to the touch then just before you run upstairs you turn on another switch.
So, if I'm right, one bulb will be off and that corresponds to the switch that is off, one bulb is not too hot and that is the one you just turned on and there's one bulb that will burn you and that's the one you left on for a few minutes. I think that'll work. Greg

Greg..isnt the one you just turned on apparent by it being ON regardless of it being hot or not?
Just my observation of your answer...however it is the correct outcome. The off but warm bulb is how you tell the differnece between the two off bulbs. Kevin

You know what? I just realized that I did something similar in life once. In college I worked for a company that built sets for commercials & films. I seem to remember having to check some switches that were connected on another stage and I did something like this.
Funny how life experiences some times crop up. Greg
