Harry,
I meant it as a legitimate question, so I appreciate the legitimate response. |

Most card magic is about staking the deck one way or another so I have nothing against stacks. I don’t use a full stack myself but lots tricks require a bit of a stack. I like using what I know as a slow cooler so hit’s them on the second trick rather than the first. Its easier to do a convincing blind with that.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Let me see if I have this straight. Lorayne resurrects a thread no one would otherwise read in order to scold people for saying -- seven years ago -- that the "Lazy Man" presentation belongs to Al Koran. He's interested in the truth, so naturally, the source of these posters' error, we now learn, is none other than Lorayne himself because 45 years ago he lied!

The Lazy Man's Card Trick that I teach... is mine. Interesting that no one above mentions that. So what did you expect? Should we all know you fabricated this episode? How do I know you're not lying right now? Is the truth, or some approximation of it, included in THE CLASSIC COLLECTION? Are our truth conscious moderators also going to delete this post?

You don't know. Its like a magic trick that you can't figure out, you just have to live with the dilemma and the cognitive dissidence that it causes in your head.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Cain: Doubt if you'll understand this, but I really couldn't care less what you think or what you "know". I saw a thread and I felt like telling the truth now, AS I DID A FEW YEARS AGO IN THE CLASSIC COLLECTION. In my post above, I told the story, the rationale. And, I know you won't believe this, but I said to a friend sitting next to me - "Now, watch, we'll get a put-down post from Cain real soon"! Thanks for not disappointing. And I hope your post is not deleted - I hope your posts over the months are not deleted - as I always say, we need obvious people like you - for "comparisons."

So I guess they didn't delete this thread.

Cain,
What is your point? You want to appear to know card magic better than Harry? You want to prove him to be a lier? You want to lighten us up with your discoveries? What do you want? This is a site for magicians helping magicians. What sort of help do you expect your posts to bring to us? We have ONE Harry Lorayne. We knew his character probably before you were even born. We might not like to have many more with the same character but we would like to have many more having brought half as much to magic. However, even if I've been occasionally sarcastic with Harry here or there, he is unique. What is YOUR contribution to magic, apart from using your incomplete culture to establish what you sincerely believe to be the truth, for feeling entitled to bash him? Give us just five really valuable ideas here in the café and then come and insult him to your heart's content. Before that just leave him alone: you are just bothering us more than him. We'd like to keep the café topical rather than personal and supportive rather than critical. Can you help us doing this?
Magic is the art of emotionally sharing live impossible situations
