Hello, how are you? well, I have the three McBride Videos on card manipulation, and I love the card productions, I've been practising all the productions taught in there, but I have a problem with two of them.
One is the "Perfect Card" production. The problem is this: I grip the cards the same way McBride teaches it, I push the card and produce it with my index finger but every time I produce a card I start to lose the grip of the cards until the cards fall out of my hand. The other is the Interlock production. I tried this production but is very hard, I can show both hands empty but when I buckle the card to produce them all my cards fall off my hand. I'd like to read some advice and tips on this two card productions. Thank you very much MAGO68

Hello mago68,
I am Douwe from the Netherlands and if I have lousy grammer please mention! But I have the "Art of Manipulation" videos too and I had the same problem with the Snap production, but you should apply more pressure to the cards in your hand (they have to bend more) and practice a lot and the problem will be history! And for the Interlock-problem:"Look carefully to what Mr. McBride does with his thumbs, he has got the card always trapped with his thumbs and when you have to get one card of the package of cards with your index finger, keep them trapped." And also:"Keep practising"! Best regards, Douwe

Thank you very much Douwe, your tips were very helpful. I just want to create a card manipulation routine.
I'll practise all the time. Thanks again MAGO68

Before continuing your daily practice to strengthen and TRAIN your hands, be committed to executing effect IN SLOW MOTION and build speed, over time, wherever necessary. Doing so enables you to find the weak spots during production. Be patient but consistent with your hands. By the way, I practice a variety of hand exercises and moves with my cards in traffic - time well spent. :) Randy Stewart |

I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer the interlock method taught in Expert Card Technique over the one on the McBride series.
Just me maybe, but I find it easier. |

Hi guys
I had dificulty with the perfection production but I kept practising and practising and practising for months and months---I have mastered it now and can do it almost as well as McBride. With manipulations, they simple suddenly come to you with a lot of practise. Same with the interlock. George |

I had the same problem with perfect production when I was a kid. Try using your pinky finger at the edge of the packet to hold them into the hand. Practice the production this way until your hand is comfortable enough to control the cards without it. however, I would not suggest using the pinky method in front of an audience because your angles become a little trickier. This is the suggestion that McBride gave me when my hands were too small to handle this production. As far as the interlock goes, try a little extra fanning powder to hold the cards in a block, also make sure constant pressure is being exerted by the thumbs at all times. The premature spreading of the cards will be your down fall. avoid it. it is difficult to describe sleights without pictures, but I hope this helps a little.

I have to stick with the time-honored "Just practice" when it comes to manipulation. I had problems with cards popping out of my hand with the Perfect Production, losing my grip with the pinky and dropping cards with Backpalm Singles, etc. Like posted above, one day it just happened. I was able to do it. Stick with it, devote a fair amount of time, and it will eventually come to you.

I don't understand, what is difficult in Perfect Production?
The grip is very easy, practice you will fing the way. Try to use some McBluff Production, you know what I mean or if you have time to practice then Master the Mercuri card Production, I know It's difficult but it's unreal |

McBride has a new DVD on Manipulation. It's called "Manipulation without tears". Teaches you how to manipulate and most important of all teaches you to build up your confidence.
