Hi Richard, I'd like to know which is your favourite/natural setting (close up/parlor/stage), I mean the setting where you feel more comfortable...
But I'd like to know also in which setting you generally have to work... Thanks a lot Giacomo |

Giacomo,
My favorite setting is a small theater. A house that seats about 150 to 200 people is perfect. I sometimes get that, but mostly I am in some hotel in a banquet hall. My rider stipulates what size stage I need, the kind of microphones and the types of lighting. You have to rememeber that 200 people in a theater is small, whereas 200 in banquest type seating (8 to 12 to a table) is huge. The problem is, of course, the potential noise level when everything is spread outand the fact that some people have to move their seats to see the stage. Richard |

Thanks for the answer Richard!
So when you perform 50 times at night the PCT you are doing some close up work and that means you walk among tables showing the same tricks? |

Around tables, but more often just around the room. See, my standard working procedure is to walk around during the reception, usually about an hour, go off during dinner, and then come back for the stage show after dessert and once the tables are cleared.
We have it in my rider that all service must stop during my show and the bar will be closed. The audience is given about a 15 minute announcement of that before I go on so that they can use the facilities and get a drink. |
