I'm sure Karl is a great guy and this is not to disparage him as much as it is to call attention to a possible problem. The pump Karl is selling looks exactly like T Meyers Pump 1. Which can be found here http://www.tmyers.com/pump/pump1.html

Now T. says he's been making them for 18 years. I know this to be true because I bought one of the first ones about 17 or 18 years ago and still have it today. It's like a tank (virtually indestructable).
