Just saw this today at Hank's and I was wondering if any has it or has used it. I believe it is the same creator as The Perfect Bend. Looks somewhat interesting.

See its a new item on The Trickery. A corkscrew PK effect with a spoon. Sounds interesting. Heres the burb:
The magician displays a spoon in his outstretched hand. He closes his hand around everything but the bowl part. Slowly and spookily the bowl of the spoon begins to turn. The spoon stops rotating in the magicians hand after a few seconds. The spoon now has an amazing spiral twist as part of the spoon. The magician gives the spoon to the audience for checking. Unbelievable! This is an effect that is best incorporated into a full bending routine. ---------------------------------- And given to the audience afterwards!!!

Hi Top,
I have Molten Metal on the way. I love PK effects also. Hank emailed me back and said Twister works just like it says but needs a switch. I have tons of flatware, gimmicks will just go back in the bin after performance::) If you think about it, Banacheck does some prework also;) Looking forward to a review also:) Candini

Hmmm, perhaps I'm WAY to critical, I don't know, but I wasn't at ALL impressed with this Great Twister. It just looks so hokey to me. The ad reads 'random spoon', but in the demo, he has 3 spoons; takes 2 away, and uses the one in his hand, which he DOESN'T SHOW.
Just watching the demo twice, it would be an EASY matter, holding the spoon the way his is, to have an 'already' twisted spoon, and with VERY little movement of the tip of his 2nd or 3rd finger, to cause the spoon to appear to rotate. I mean, ALL the 'heat' is on the bowl. If in fact ALL 3 spoons could be shown freely, and examined, and then one picked 'randomly', then I would be more impressed. Then again, I personally HATE gimmicked cutlery. Just my opinion. I am brand new at this metal bending stuff, but after watching Bannachek, Richard O., Patrik, and Chad, WHY does anyone need to use 'gimmicked' cutlery. I know many of you will purchase this new item from Erez, and for those who do, I really do hope you enjoy it and get LOTS of mileage, but I'll keep my money in my pocket. BEST... smitty P.S. - just thought of 'one' handling that would be better than the demo. If one did the move Bannachek does, where he is displaying 2 spoons; passes one out for inspection; takes that one back, does the easy 's......h', passes the other one out, and then proceeds with the routine, I could buy that for a presentation. A lot of metal bending is done this way. But 'no' gimmicked cutlery used; just P.S.B.. |

MY BAD, MY BAD, I exposed to much in my last posting. SORRY guys/gals. Perhaps some of the Café staff will read it and delete it.
I haven't been well the past few days, and as 'soon' as I clicked 'Submit Reply', and then read it again, I KNEW I said too much. Guess I shouldn't be on here when I'm not well. Regards... smitty |

I had a good look at this in my local dealers last week. I have to say this is the funniest looking gimmik I have ever seen. I think we should all buy one of these and when ever we feel down just get it out our box where we keep all the stuff we will never use and have a good laugh. I hate to give bad reviews and would usually rather say nothing than say something was bad but with this I make an exeption. I have been performing for over 15 years now and I can honestly say I would love to see this done well by someone and I will buy the beers all night if you can.

Going back to what I said earlier, about presenting this the way Bannachek does his spoon routine on his PSI series. He displays 2 spoons; hands one out; takes it back; hands the other one out; takes it back, and then goes into the bending.
So, with just a little P.S.B., The Great Twister could EASILY be done with NORMAL spoons, and NO gimmicks. For the 'twisting' portion, just use Bannachek's technique on Psychokinetic Silverware. Anyone have any thoughts on this. I haven't tried it, but it seems to 'me' at least to make sense. (G) I mean, the illusion is awesome, but WHY use gimmicks? smitty |

It seems like false advertising if you ask me. If it's a random selection of a spoon then why does he have to hide the third one the entire time? And on a side note, the presentation almost hurt to watch. He actually attempted to turn psychokinesis into a flashy trick.

Perfect Bend Is excellent ! after watching the video for Twister no way this one Is not convincing at all . Not so magical when almost the entire spoon is hidden In his hand any laymen will figure the spoon Is already twisted from the start just my opinion.

If anything, the Great Twister would be done at the end of a bending routine, so the audience is already convinced you are bending. I certainly wouldn't do this as an opener.

Well, months later, I've just gone back and watched this again. This one WON'T get my money for sure. His 'fast' move at the end just smells of 's.....'n d....h'. It is SO obvious the spoon he starts with, is NOT the spoon he displays at the end. If the 3 spoons started on the table, clearly on display, and he chose one, it would be more believable. However, I go back to my original statement, that this same 'illusion' can be created' without any gimmickry. P.S.B. yes, but no gimmicks.
Has 'anyone' bought this? Would love a comment from an 'owner' of the effect. best...smitty |
