Hi guys!
I'm new to have an assistant in a stage magic, because I'm always do a solo stage magician and uses only props that's in a table. but now I'm doing illusions so I will need an assistant but, my problem is this, what should my assistant wear? should my lady assistant wear a sexy dress? if its a man should my assistant wear a coat or an all black shirt? hope you guys can help me, thank you!

Your assistants' costumes should be governed by your show. Ladies' dresses give you cover for many loads but may not fit your show. Movement is also very important. Costumes should be part of the solution, and not part of the problem. My assistant changs costumes four times in the two hour show.

It depends a lot on what you wear...your assitant will look out of place in a formal gown if you wear jeans and a t-shirt (ala Doug Henning)!

I would like to expound a bit on some of what has already been said. Your show should have a theme (a basic one at the very least). Both the clothes that you, and your assistant wear should fit, and add to that theme. I would even go so far as to say that asside from your mono/dialog, what you wear should be the single most important tool for expressing your theme.
