Hi
I am drawing up an new illusion - more details to follow - but the illusion would need to use a 7 to 8 foot roller blind. Does a roller blind 7 to 8 foot work as well as the small roller blinds? JA |

I use about a 6 foot roller blind in an illusion and haven't had any major problems. The only problem that I thought I was gonna have was how efficient it rolled back up again. But, it seems to work fine. For added support, you could build some runners for it but that all depends on the sort of illusion your going for. Good luck.

Width or length?
That length and it'll be a very slow motion and a very unstable "screen" even with side-guides. That width and you'll have a faster action and a lot more stable screen but you'll pay through the nose for it and have high maintainance. PM us if you want to go through specifics.

A 7' roller blind is going to be trouble. Why not think about going side to side instead of up and down?

Make sure that you mount it to the roller securely. I have had problems with rollers coming loose from the fabric in the past.

I usually put about 1 1/2 fabric of the fabric extra on the roller to help keep it attached to the roller. This takes the strain off the glue or attaching method.
