If you visit Peter Duffie's website, check out Devioius Dates, one of his new pdf download offerings. I got it and like it for a couple of reasons. It is extremely easy and as self-working as it can get. You can be totally focused upon presentation. Yes, it involves mathematics, but it is so well masked (in my opinion) that I hardly think anyone will know. Even if they thought so, I don't see how it could be possibly back-tracked. And, there is good motivation given for using numbered cards along with a subtlty that makes everything seem oh so fair (and non-mathematical). Finally, it REALLY IS very adaptable as also mentioned in the advertisement blurb. So...easy, automatic, you can play it up, adaptable, and only $10. I have no complaints.

Hi Nicholas,
Yes, it was a nice piece of magic simply because I always like to use diary effects as my opener. And this got my vote. You also would like to check out Peter's Mind Master. Andrew,
Yes, I liked that one, too. But I think that this one is even more straightforward. It is also easier for me to think of different ways of adapting it to different situations. Greg Arce also has a nice one in his ebook titled Deep Thoughts that allows you to show a relationship between the participant's birthdate and your prediction (and you really don't know their birthdate beforehand). And, in Mohana, Anabelle has one that is super-simple where the datebook notation provides a nice kicker to an effect called Tarot Coincidence. Although there must be a ton of datebook effects out there, these are the ones I've run across in my limited experience. But, I must be lucky because I think each one is a gem. Nicholas |

I was looking at this. I like Mind Master a lot. But this one does seem more straight forward.

Thanks for the heads-up. I got it and like it! Easy to rig several Dollar Store diary calendars for different effects: names, cards, vacation locations, etc.
It's also rare to see something excellent offered for $10!

The add says that everything can be left for inspection. Is it really the case? Are we talking a good inspection or a few seconds one?
thanks |
