Hey Danny,
Great to see you here at the Café. You know I had to bring up your Archer Shuffle. Can you tell the people here at the Café how it came about. I just have a feeling that some people maybe missing out on this one. I also wanted to say thank you for all your hard work that you put in on LVMI every year and I wish you success every year and hope to get back out next year. Take care Wade |

Ah ... The Archer Shuffle …
Back in the day … when I worked at Phila. Magic Company, occasionally gamblers and cheats would stop in the shop and show us some incredible moves … think about it … say you’re a gambling cheat … you can’t show your skills to the other players … laymen can’t/wouldn’t appreciate you talent, but a magician would … being a major city (and not far from Atlantic City), cheats would stop in and show cool dice and card moves … One day a guy stopped (if I knew his name, it has long been forgotten), in and showed/taught me a False Shuffle that used a pressure technique to keep the halves from going flush … he did it as a table shuffle and it was very deceptive but, in my hands, it was not 100% … I played with it for weeks and eventually developed the use of the LH pinky to make the shuffle 100% certain and I also brought it off the table and added the waterfall … I have used this shuffle for many years and it’s naturalness has flew by laymen (and many well posted magicians) … the shuffle not only looks authentic, but it SOUNDS authentic … They are many excellent shuffles in the annuals of magic … the Archer Shuffle is the best for me … I believe that you should find one that works for you and make it your false shuffle … The Archer Shuffle appeared in my very first set of lecture notes Working Alone (and on the video of the same name) … it has also been publish in the Linking Ring in my One Man Parade … |
