Deos anyone know that trick where David Copperfield gets split in half? It sounds pretty cool and I just wanted to know if you can buy it somwhere.

I saw Copperfield live on one occasion and he performed that trick. Don't know how he does it, but it was a great illusion.
As far as performing it yourself, I guess you'd have to first buy a stage. Then get yourself a huge industrial strength saw. Round up about 4 or 5 assistants. Then get an audience. Charge handsomely, and then proceed to sever your torso. Ron :)

I believe you are talking about his effect, "The Laser"...
IF so, nope, I highly doubt you could buy it He does not normally sell his stuff, if ever... Tanner |

There is Laser which was invented by Steve Fearson who sold the rights to perform it to David Copperfield. Then there is an effect I believe is called Saw or something like that in which a large circular saw cuts him in half, I don't know the origins of this effect.

Laser is an incredible effect. I saw a video of Fearson doing this way back, but Copperfield's is far more elaborate. I understand there is an impromptu version of this running around now.
If anyone has any info on this please post it. Rick |
