I have the Best of Magic television series,and I saw a man perform an effect.I don't know the name of it.Can anybody help me? the trick is, the magician had a picture frame hanging, he walked over to it and stuck a picture of a barrel on it, then he stuck a spicket on the picture and proceeded to pour beer from the picture it filled a large glass. It's a beutiful effect.Thanks Michael

Can't say I can name the effect, but I do remember it, it was performed by Geoffrey Durham.

It is very old but I don't know the inventor or year of its creation. You'll find it described in "Magic Explained" by Walter Gibson (1958) under the name "Imaginary Keg" (P.109). There were several manufacturers of the Spigot. In previous years, they were always made in metal, but it would be easy to make one yourself out of plastic. The special glass or beer mug used is described in my article "DIY Milk Pitcher" in Dollar Store Magic on my site.
