I did buy it ,thats why I am asking the question as it appears very similar to me as I also have done Paul's trick since it was put in print in TSD convention booklet.

Ahh.. I see. Paul can explain the differences better than I. I'm not familiar with the Cummins trick.
Big thank you for your support. You can reach Paul through his site, I'm not sure if he has an account on here: http://paulvigil.com I'm pretty sure he was reading this thread earlier today, maybe he'll pop in. Best- Steve

Message from the mysterious Mr V.
I asked Paul about the similarities to the Cummins trick. He said that your questions should be answered in note 8. Also, Paul C did grant Paul V permission to publish the variations on Cummins work. Paul is not the type to step on any toes. Hope that clears things up! Best- Steve

I think it's only fair to mention that Paul Vigil asked me to get in touch with Paul Cummins for him before moving forward with the project at all. I got the two of them in contact and it was only after Mr. Cummins offered his blessing that Vigil even started to write up his routine.
This really is a breath of fresh air in the magic community when someone goes through such lengths to make sure that all parties involved are on the same page before anything is done. Both Paul Cummins and Paul Vigil are standup guys who always try to do the right thing, we can learn a lot from both of them. luke |

Ive had this for a couple of days now and I love it. I thought the description sounded too good, but am glad to say that the effect lives up to the AD. Great effect, great method and at a great price. Recommended.

This is really great stuff. The first time I deduced the card in pocket after performing the "move", I was shocked, amazed and delighted. It's like knowing the secret and still being fooled by it.
I also realized that there are a few tips in Pit Hartling's Little Green Lecture notes about said "move". |

I have just read through it. I'm got that same excited feeling I got when I first opened up art of astonishment.
One question : Often a borrowed deck isn't a full deck. Will it affect the C****ing ? |

Yes, you'll really need a full deck to do this. So make sure you ask your spectator and check first before actually doing the routine. I've gotten pretty good with C****ing. I can do it with a quick spread and find out the card in a few seconds tops.

Mike Powers' work on c****ing in Power Plays, is IMO an improvement. It is based on 13 rather than 10, and removes the issues involved with a final number of 1, 2 or 3. It is easily applied to this and other routines using this principle. It saves you a step and is just as surefire.
Having said that, there's nothing wrong with base 10, and it may well be a bit easier to learn.
