You present a nut and a bolt. Depending on how you want to present this, you can cover the bolt with a hanky, a glass, or you can choose not to cover at all, and the nut screws itself onto the bolt, or you can even have it unscrew itself from the bolt. The nut and bolt are completely examinable by your audience.
This one has the potential to be a real stunner! Everything works like advertised. Just like in the video, unfortunately , the video didn't have sound. Here is the one real drawback, and it is a major drawback. The gimmick is LOUD! Real Loud. And this gives away the effect completely. I have tried using music as a distraction, but this thing is LOUD, and it really overpowers any reasonable distraction. I am now in the process of trying to "insulate" the gimmick to reduce sound, without affecting the proper working of the trick itself. This will be a real challenge. Anyone looking at this effect should keep the sound problem in mind! Otherwise this is a great effect. Maybe if you are a street performer in a busy downtown area, the sound won't affect things. In my case it does. |

When I was playing with it in a magic shop, I just talked over the sound. There may be more than one manufacturer of the trick. The one that I tested didn't make a loud noise -- it was fairly quiet. Maybe some silicone spray is needed to lubricate the mechanism.
Maybe putting an opaque plastic cup over the nut and bolt will cut the sound a little. I just thought that the visible action of the nut and bolt was "too perfect" -- that's why I cover it. |

I have noticed that there are more than one version out. The difference I have seen is that in one, you place the bolt in the middle of the case, in mine, it is at the very edge. Maybe there are quality differences too? I will try some silicone spray!

Mine is not noisy at all but if some are a little differnet it won't make a big difference because nobody will notice it if they are in shock from this freaky effect.
