I have both of the Wilson books (except for format I can't find any difference), they/it are/is my favorite(s).

That said, Amateur Magician's Handbook by Henry Hay is an absolute treasure. It does teach presentation and stage skills as well as the "trick" part of doing magic. I've recommended this even for mentalists.

Simply put yes. This is a great begginer book because it will allow you to see many different types of props you can use in your magic. This allows you to get a feel for the type of magic you want to do. It also gives you a great introduction into cards and supplies you with many great card sleights and tricks.
