I have Entourage, and am thinking about getting, "Temptation" by Gordon Bean. If you have this, would you please post your opinion. I just want to know your overall thought of this effect. Do you like it? Thanks! Steve

I have both 'entourage' and 'Temptation'.I like both effects equally.Anything by Gordon Bean is generally rock solid. He is a bit of a perfectionist and does not release anything that he does not feel is of the very highest quality. The effect itself is self working but learning the sequence of moving the cards correctly about does take a bit of practice to remember initially.'Temptation' presents as an 'illusion' from the point of view of the spectator as the cards fly about from hand to hand and you end up completely clean.I have created my own routine where I start off with this effect and seemlessly flow into Monte 3.0 using the same cards. If you are thinking of buying 'Temptation' then go for the 'T3' version which I use myself (if you can get the cards now). However any version will be good.
I certainly recommend this effect to you. Hope this helps. Andy. |

Hey Andy! Thank you so much for taking the time to give me this review. I really appreciate it!!!!
I will go go T-3 like you said. I have been having a lot of fun with Entourage and agree that Gordon Bean does have some quality stuff!!!! Thanks again Andy! Steve

Steve,
I think Temptation is a great effect, which has gone under the radar by the magic community. Either that or it is so good, no one wants to talk about it, for fear of others using it. There is so much built into the little effect, and the final transposition, which happens on the spectators body is great. On second thought, the effect stinks, don't buy it.

If you like his stuff, you should also look into Joker, Joker. I'm not as much a fan of that trick as I am of the bonus, Los Angeles Open. It's a great Open Prediction effect that is practically self working.
Yes, that is my real name. Yes, I am a real person. No, you probably won't agree with me.

Los Angeles Open is possibly the most practical, fooling handling of OP that has been released to date. As well as stunning layman, it will fool almost any magician who isn't aware of this method.
I'm glad that it's hidden away in the back of the Joker Joker instructions! ME

I didn't like Joker Joker and, figuring that Los Angeles Open was probably only a slight variation of Joker Joker, I almost didn't read the Los Angeles Open instructions. Man!! Am I thankful that I did! LA Open is just a dynamite effect. Last Friday, I was sessioning with a few other magicians and one of these guys is an "Open Prediction Nut". I performed LA Open for him and, at the climax, his eyes got wide, his mouth fell open and he just dumbly and wordless looked at me...and stared. I offered to repeat the effect and I turned my back and did the one quick "Necessary". (I, of course, stretched this out a bit as I supposedly really pondered which card to next select and what position to place it in.) I then turned back and performed it again for him. Same stunned reaction from him. (heh-heh!) I just love seeing a person's facial expressions when he goes through cerebal meltdown as his brain flashes "does not compute" messages back to him. So easy to perform and such a socko ending. I never leave home without the simple things necessary to perform this effect. I've been performing this effect for years and I always have it in reserve. I guess it's time to once again get Joker-Joker out, re-read the instuctions and hope that, this time, it "clicks" with me. I'm not holding out much hope however.

Turk is absolutely correct when he say's that LA Open is an dynamite effect. I was that magician that he performed it for. I don't know about Joker Joker, but I can say that LA Open is a must buy. See ya soon Turk.

Does anyone know if Joker, Joker / L.A. Open is still available?
Can't see it on Gordon's website. Thanks in advance. T. |

Hi Mike.'T3' was sent to me direct by Gordon Bean.It is the very slightly improved routine he was personally using at the time he was corresponding with me. (I did say that he was a perfectionist and always moving forward!) He was even kind enough to supply paper typed instructions for the variation. The cards are slightly differently gaffed than the normal cards supplied with the orthodox 'Temptation'. You achieve the same effect but can handle/move the cards around with more 'options' and importantly handle the spread of the cards more openly. That is all I can say without exposing. Mr Bean may no longer have any more T3 sets in stock. The set he sent me was spare and was found in one of his drawers and sent to me as an act of kindness.I then sent him as way of thanks my ideas for a smoothly arranged routine that combined 'Temptation' and 'Monte 3.0' which he liked. Hope this makes things clearer. With best wishes Andy. |
