I am looking for a flat magician's folding table as seen in 'Cellini - The Art of Street Preforming DVD Vol. 1' http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/the-art-of......016.html The table packs very flat (thin as folded newspaper) and when lifted up it becomes a table, the legs has cut out of the four card suit.
It looks very similiar to the Alpha Table (by Alpha Magic International) as seen here: http://www.alphamagicint.com/index.asp?w=1680&h=1050 But the one I am looking for is the version in Cellini's video, where on the table's folding legs, it features the four suit 'clubs, heart, spades and diamond'. I hope some one here can direct me to where I can find it. I'll try to attached a screen shot of the table when possible, haven't figure out how to do that yet. |

The Harbin style table in Cellini's table is, I believe, made in Russia. There are not many around, and when you do find them, they tend to be going for a fairly hefty price. I have one and love it. I got mine in Chicago at a shop that was selling it on consignment. I've only seen one other, about ten years ago in San Francisco. It also was being sold on consignment.
As far as I've been able to determine, there is no regular dealer. I think Danny Hustle (he's a member here) was looking into them a few years ago. I'm not sure how his search went. You may want to PM him. Now, there are more and more Harbin style tables popping up these days, if you're not tied to this specific design. In that case, google is your friend. Here are some similar tables. http://www.colinrosemimc.co.uk/magic_shop_harbins_table.htm http://www.kwmagic.com/index.php?main_pa......ed41ac8b http://www.vikingmagic.com/?nd=full&key=815

Hi Mark, Thanks for you info! Now at least I know what it is called - 'Harbin Style Table'!
Ya.. I been searching around for a while and had come across all the others you mentioned, but they were all a little bit 'ugly' for my taste, so I kept trying to look for that very nice one in Cellini's video with the card suits on them which looks very nice. At the moment, it seems Alpha Table is the closest to that design I am looking for. Will keep trying my luck then. Thanks again for the very useful info. |

This reply is coming extremely late (about three years....). Apologies, but I've only just registered.
In any case, I hope you found what you were looking for. I decided last week that I needed a table similar to the Harbin Packable, and after a few hours' worth of searching, found the most basic of plans. I've got to say, I'm extremely impressed with it. It's far from being a work of art, but since it can fit in my show suitcase, I'm a happy man. If you haven't managed to find the table you were looking for, perhaps you might consider building yourself? I can pm you the details, if you like? |
