Evening, y'all. Several years ago on Saturday Night Live, I saw Harry Anderson do a packet routine. He used a five, an ace, a king, and an eight. The end of the routine had the cards replaced with letters spelling the word "FAKE". I was wondering if this was published anywhere, and if not some recommendations of something similar.
Thanks in advance, Rudy |

You might try YouTube or your local shop. I know Harry Anderson did put out a card Video in the '80s. It might be in there if you can find it.

This book may have it. And you can order it here, too! The description does mention that he was on SNL. Maybe that effect is in there.....

The trick, and variations on the theme, are indeed in the book Wise Guy, as is virtually everything he performed on TV. His chopping off your hand and bleeding all over the sidewalk while busking for people in line to see "Jaws" is in there too, but he only did that trick once. It almost got him beat up.
A great book for people who love magic, even if you never do any of the tricks. |

For a stand-up performer, there probably isn't a better book. Even if you don't do any of the stuff, you'll learn a lot about simple, direct effects that play. There are lots of great close-up literature, but very few great resources for modern day stand-up.

He told me he called that his grandfather card trick. It was on tv-MGM special.

The trick Harry did is called "Marked" by John Cornelius.
It can be found on: 1) John's Creative Magic DVD 2) Michael Ammar Classic Renditions volume 4. It's called Marked For Life ( named by Lance Pierce ) on that one. 3) Bob Sheets Does Hospitality Volume 1
