I have had a Black Tiger deck for a while, and it's been great. It would fan well and it had excellent handling. Now, the cards sort of stick together when I fan them and they don't handle nearly as well. I don't really have the money to get another deck at the time, so I was wondering if anyone had any inexpensive methods of making cards feel new again. It would really help.
Thanks in advance.

Wipe every single card front and back with a cloth.
Put them into a heavey clamp; the whole deck without box. Put that togehter in the freezer 1 night. To be honest; I did not try that myself; but I was told that procedure quite often. It is up to you!

I too have heard the clamp and freezer method is effective. Sorry to say it, but cards wear out and there isn't too terribly much you can do after they've lost their life. If you can't get a decent card spring out of them anymore, you know they're destined for the extras bin.
Also, IMHO, regular blue and red bikes are much classier....cheaper too!

I tried the clamp and freezer method on a deck of red bikes, just to be sure it worked before I did it with my black tigers, and the moisture from the freezer made the cards warp. Now they're bent and harder to work with. I can't even fan them decently.
Are there any other methods?

They have to be clamped very tight. As soon as you take them out of the freezer they will get moistured and then they will dry. During this process you should not open the clamp as I could imagine that you will destroy the cards then.
Please try again with another old Bike deck and be patient!!!

Okay, I had already stuck the normal bikes back in the clamp and let them sit out of the freezer for a while to see what they'd do, and now they're fine. They still aren't as good as I expected, but they don't seem as worn.
Thanks for the help.

Try wiping off each card... then put a light dusting of fanning powder on them.
and ALWAYS keep your cards in a card guard clip. The press is a good item to have... you can use any type of carpenters clamp with blocks of wood... or there are fancy decorative card presses for the eccentric (we sold a few on our site and they are a nice conversation piece! lol) I also suggest keeping your specialty decks for unique effects ect... nothign beats the commonality of a normal bike deck. So many people look at specialty decks as "gimmicked". If you like the black look, there are cheaper specialty decks such as the normal "black deck" and other variations. and lastly - decks should be seen as consumable items vs. normal items. They have lifespans.
