Anyone know a good source or brand of Light Up Diablos? My girlfriend has been looking for one and I'd like to get one for her birthday.

Any recommendations???

Hello Dan,
I use a Mr. Babache Finesse diabolo with the Mr. Babache LED light kits and also have the Energy Luminous Hand sticks. They are all good products and they look great when used. I use them professionally and get lots pf positive feedback whenever I use them. I highly recommend that you go for the LED control sticks if you get the diabolo and lights. They really add a nice dynamic to the whole set-up
Here are a couple of links to some videos of the products in use...

Yeah, what my brother said ... these LED props have advanced big time over the last couple years. Great effect and worth the money.

I also use Mr. Babache Finesse diabolo with the Mr. Babache LED light kits.
Note that there is finesse 1, finesse 2 and finesse 3.
Get 3 or 2. And in any case if you do more diabolos get all from the same serie as the weight of the different series is different.

Without lights I use Henrys Circus and they say they have the same weight as the finesse 3 with light kit.

Good Point,
I just assumed that most vendors have sold out of the older models out by now. However, that might not alway be the case. make sure you buy a matched set for multi diabolo work.
On another note... regarding colors... if you are planning on using the diabolos with LED light kits... certain colored diabolos are more translucent then others. I have found that the yellow is the best color, orange and green are not bad. Be sure to not get a white one, as they are totally opaque and do not glow at all. Not sure of blue or red. Good luck. I have 2 yellow diabolos, both with blue LED light kits and blue LED control sticks. Looks great!

There was a great Light up diabolo called
Diab-glo
I have 3 they had a great weight a good run time, and a brilliant look!
The best part was it wasn't just the lead lights you saw spinning, the whole bell lit up like neon!
I haven't seen them anywhere in the market since I found them and bought them.

Just,
Larry

The other colors are translucent. Red and pink also.
Also you can get different colors of led lights.

I am working on a few changes in my diabolo routine and I noticed that my diabolo lights for my Ryo Yabe Diabolos are so heavy and 3 diabolos high are so much more strenuous. Nobody told me I was going to do some weight training with those, when juggling three. I don't know about other diabolo lights like the LED from Babache, but it seems to be a common problem among all of them. Because of the weight difference I decided to use no lights for one and two diabolos in my routine, although a few tricks would have looked nice with LED effects.

Well, I prefer to use for most two diabolo tricks like Fan's, Suns, Sprinkler etc., Ryo Yabe Sundia diabolos and YOHO's, For three d's low I use Henry's. I have been using Henry;s from 91-97, switched for 6 years to Renegade's with a Henry's Axes.

Fantasma sells Babache and I try them their once in a while for three diabolos, but I don't like Babache's axes. If you are planning to buy lights, babache LED 3 is good, Sundia and Yoho use the same LED system, and the lights are OK and Henry's LED lights do break a lot..

From my perspective I would probably recommend a Henrys circus diabolo for a beginner. Very advanced diabolists may use Sundia/Yohos...

Do any of you also have problems with the working of the babache lights after dropping the diabolo a few times (or do you just not drop??).
I get it fixed again after screwing it loose, "moving" the batteries/contactpoints a bit etc. But it is seems very fragile now. Sometimes stops in the middle of diaboloing (that is when not dropping at all) now. (sometimes not all the light go out but just do not shine very bright anymore -- with batteries fully charged)
Any tips to fix this?? (or is the only solution buy new light kits and do not drop anymore... Smile

You should check out the Henry's Vega light kits for the circus or jazz diabolo. They only light one side and come with a weight that attaches to the other side to balance things out.

I find that the Henry's products are a little more robust than Mr B. Useful if you perform diabolo a lot.

I use 2 sets of Vega lights for my circus diabolos so both sides now light up. These lights are also fully rechargeable, which is useful.

More pricey than the Mr B lights, but for all you Henry's fans they are a must.

I guess you could also buy the conversion kit that allows you to attach the Mr B lights to any diabolo. Personally not for me.
