I don't like the alternative The Illusionist vs. The Prestige. One of the two has to be hurt: it's rare enough to have two good films about magic to avoid downgrading one of them just for expressing our admiration over the other one.

Lawrence's point is well taken. Both are excellent movies.
I do prefer the Illusionist as I for me it more closely tied to several historical facts (loosely) and of course the Orange Tree is special for me. Richard

Since the Prestige, I don't have to worry about people sticking thier fingers in the vanishing birdcage anymore. (LOL)

At last I have watched both movies. To be honest I liked the Prestige better. They are both great, but Prestige is really clever movie, because every time you watch it, you watch it at a different angle. Both films also got my mind on creating an old fashion magic show.
