I've looked and looked and can't locate a trick I recently read.
I thought it was a Zarrow trick in a recent Genii, but I can't find it. I remember the performer and spectator had small packets and the performer would say something to the effect of "I have 1 more black than you have red". I liked it because of the impromptu nature of the trick and the repeatability with a different result. Can anyone help me locate this trick even with this lousy explanation? Thanks Steve |

Sounds pretty much like one of the thousands of variations on Stewart James' "Miraskill".
You can find the original in 'Stewart James in Print' and 'The Essential Stewart James' among other places. Thinking about it, what you're looking for could be "Minimal Miraskill" which is in Herb Zarrow's recently released book, 'Zarrow, A lifetime of Magic'. Hope it helps,
"There's a world of difference between the spectators not knowing how something is done and them knowing that it can't be done."

César,
That's a huge help. (I'm embarrassed I didn't recall Miraskill) I haven't gotten the new Zarrow book yet (next on my list), so one of the magazines must have run excerpts from it. Now to find it..... Steve |

Miraskill is also in Hugard's Encyclopedia of Card Tricks, p.330. Some other versions here.
