I saw a cymbal stand that looks like it could easily be converted to a vent stand.. might be something you want to look into. For $30 and a little bit of work, it seems like a good deal.

Al Good's stands are a converted cymbal stand base. He cuts the rods so they collapse to a specific closure - then rivets an adapter to fit a microphone flange. His tops are lightweight and very well constructed. He uses an industrial fabric used in trade show displays which allows the use of velcro to keep your figure from shifting.
For the price, its a great stand and I highly recommend them! |

Oh!! that's kind of funny. =P
I haven't looked at AL's stand (that I know of), I was looking at the one Dummyworks has, don't know if it's the same one (it's $140 or around there).

Can't remember what I paid for Al's. I had purchased the stand to fit in my case rather than carry an extra mic stand. At VentHaven, I saw the quality of his tops and purchased one there. I switch between Al's and a P & L base made by Owen.
Quick check of Dummyworks and it looks just like what I got from Al. He may sell to them. |

I, too, use Al Good's vent stand. It fits inside my case, very portable.
