Re Joe Skilton's BC
Everyone posting on this thread has the capability to duplicate this effect. Just give yourself the following constraints and assume your life depended on arriving at a solution. (1) No TT (2) No palming another bill (3) Bill only has to folded to eighths (4) Bill doesn't have to be borrowed. I'm going to try and arrive at a solution. It's one of the many facets of magic that I enjoy.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe that John covered this particular handling anywhere in the book. He does cover a ton of handlings (all of them great and different in presentation as well as mechanical performance). The second thing I'll point out is the non-issue present with his "mis-made" statement. A mis-made isn't a secret gimmick (like a TT, Sanada, etc.). The magic of the moment is not found in the mis-made... it is found in the change itself. I don't see his comment (mistake or otherwise) as a blunder of any importance. Calling it a mis-made does not nearly indicate a secret of magic by any stretch of the imagination, much less indicate the secret of this particular effect. This was by far the cleanest presentation of the effect that I have ever seen. However, it may very well be strictly a stage presentation method. |
