Hi -
I think I'm having a problem with logging in. If I want to post a message, I can do so by entering my username and password immediately above the Message Body part of the form. That works fine (obviously, since you're reading this!) However, if I want to edit or delete a post, I can't. I suspect this is because I'm not logged in properly. If I enter my Username and Password at the top of the screen (next to the Magic Café logo), then click "Log In", nothing appears to happen. Well, I'm taken to the Forum Index, but that's all. I still can't edit or delete any posts, and the system gives no indication that it's recognised me. Am I missing something? Thanks! Richard  Ummm. Obviously the correct way to fix problems with logging in is to create a thread complaining about it, since I am now apparently able to delete and edit posts. Sorry about that! |

I`m having trouble too.
Last weekend I was no longer permanently logged on. I tried to log on using my password but couldn`t. I applied for a new password and after a struggle got logged in, but have to type in my name before each post. I can`t receive p.m. or access the areas reserved for those logging 50 posts. |

Try this. Go to your temporary internet files folder and delete all the cookies dealing with magiccafe, themagiccafe, and forums. Then go back and try to log in. The Café is cookie driven an occassionally there are conflicts.

Thank you for the reply.
If I knew as much about computers as magic I would know how to do this. Can I just cancell my registration and start again ? |

Then look for the folders named Windows, click on that and look for the folder named temporary internet files. If you click on that, you'll get a list. For me, the easiest thing then is go up to the menu on top of the page, click edit and select all. Click on file and click delete. You can do a search for files using th exact cookie name for the Café but this way will get rid of all the junk on your computer as well.

Thanks for your help.
I`ve been visiting Magic Café for only a few months but I will miss it. It`s no fun any more, I don`t know if this message will be accepted ! |
