I would have to say crazy man's handcuffs, I can't count how many times someone has said to me, "just tell me how you do this one trick, I'll never tell anyone, this is the only one I want to know." It never fails, everytime I perform this for friends or family they are dying to know the secret. my uncle actually did the stage and lighting for Copperfield when he came to town and therefore had to sign a contract agreeing not to divulge any of his secrets. Even after knowing how to do all those fancy illusions, the one trick he wanted to know was CMH's. it's a killer.

I'll go with Traveling Cash/Time Zone and CMH. Also I stick with the oldies and do jumping rubber band from fingers to fingers with the three phases using one band, then two bands, then using a third band to wrap around each finger tip then doing the double jump. Also do that cigar ring...forget the name but you wrap the band around your middle finger and you extend both index and middle. And you cause the band to jump from middle to index. Also do that ring on rubber band where the ring rises up a rubber band. CMH principle but using objects like keys, key ring, fingers, shoelace, to replace the use of the second band.

Out of all the harlan tapes, which on do you think has the best effects? I've also heard stargazer talked about alot, where can I this trick? I'm just getting started with rubberbands and was going to buy Ammars classic renditions,it only has three effects though(cmh, traveling cash, restored rubberband).

Todd, any magic dealer will most likely carry Alan Wong's Stargazer. You can see a video of it at http://www.jbtv.co.uk. It is about US $15.00 and comes with everything necessary to perform it. I love this and use it frequently.
Take care, Jay |

Has anyone seen "The Greatest rubber band trick in the world"
I found it in a small booklet and the effect is great. (no longer have a copy so dont know by whom it was by) You hold the bands like Dan Harlan does when he links them ( or Ammar with coloured hair bands), you make the link and now for the kicker, YOU SPREAD YOUR FINGERS APART AND one band is stretched around your left and right first fingers with the OTHER BAND HANGING from the first LINKED. its similar to the broken and restored rubber band but you implement the extra band into it. |

I got a lot of PM's due to my last post asking for a better description so here it is in video.
Click Here Anyone know the originator of this effect? Ps U can also link a spectators ring this way, and not just a band. |

I can't download the video because it'll take way too long on my connection, but from your description in the other thread, it sounds a lot like Chris Kenner's "The Missing Link". Does it use the same principle as the "Torn and Restored Band" (aka "Snap")? If so, that's Chris's; it appeared in his book Out of Control/Totally Out of Control and on the Harlan set of videos. A version also appeared in Michael Weber's Lifesavers with credit to Chris, although apparently there's some dispute over Weber's printing it that Chris alludes to in his book.
Anywhere it appears without credit to Chris is likely to be theft, as the effect is fairly well known as his.

Hi everyone
I like doing the CMH. I also like the one band vanishes follow up from one of Harlan's tapes. Does anyone know where I could download a clip of this effect that Copperfield did on stage? I´m curious if he used the same method that Harlan and Ammar use, or if he has his own special handling. Thanks. |

Does anyone know which tape of harlans has the one band vanish?

Copperfield used the standard handling, nothing fancy; just the standard one-way penetration, twice.
I believe the vanish is on Volume 1 of the Harlan series.

Anyone know the originator of this effect? I haven't read every post yet, but it does sound like Chris Kenner's effect. It was printed in a booklet called "Band across the Globe" It also had a great Boomerang Band handling, along with a few other goodies. David
