Hey,
I am a new member here and I live in Norway. I haven't had the time to check other topics in this forum yet, so I don't know if people mention what magic they do when saying "hey" for the first time. If members do, I mostly make my own sleight of hands, but occasionally, also some larger scale illusions. It seems I have come to the right place, though; I want to be a member at a place where magicians all around the world can talk about magic and get tips from each other. Am I right, is this that place? Anyway, I really appreciate some welcoming messages since I am new here and I'd love to make friends. Just private message me at any time you want for any reason! I think that's all for now, so have a nice day, everyone! |

Hi there.
You've picked a great place to meet folks involved with magic, as well as a great spot to share tips and ideas. Welcome to the Café. Bob. |

Thanks for the welcomes. I can't be very active on the forum right now, but I will be once summer is over and school starts (and yes, I know it sounds wrong since it's usually the opposite).

Does anybody else deal with having a hard time making up new magic? At least I do, so I decided to do mind-reading magic instead. I find that much more fun and entertaining to perform, even if I don't get it right (although I do, haha). I don't know how many read this, just thought the people who do should know, in case it every comes up again...

Mentalism is a powerful tool in magic. Try Muscle reading also. I know of a couple of dvds that will be coming out soon on this subject. Look for some stuff by Pascal De Clermont it is produced by Stephane Jardonnet. And should be released in a couple of months. I worked on the English translation, and I will just state for the record that they are the two best dvds I have ever seen on the subject. They will more then likely, become the definitive source on Muscle reading... Mind blowing stuff!

But in conact mindreading there is more goin on htan just 'muscle reading', so also explore some of the early masters like Hanussen.
PS -- it is easy to create 'new magic effects' -- check out http://www.eversway.com but, since the appreciation of magic really comes from the audience, just do your old effects perfectly before new audiences. Much easier and cheaper.

Thanks for the tip! Like you said, it is much easier and cheaper to perform my "old" tricks for new audiences, so I'll stick with that for a while. I do create new magic meanwhile, but I use a lot of time to fully make up a new trick.
