In this effect the spectator chooses a length between,say, 3 ft. and 6 ft. When the carpenter's tape measure is pulled out there is an X at that length. 1. Does anyone know the name of this trick?
2. I found the tape can't be marked too far in advance of performing the trick. I marked the tape the night before and the unwanted marks didn't come off well. Mark the tape as close to the time of performance as possible.
