Has anyone seen these?
http://www.livingwaters.com/index.php?pa......emid=199 It is a fake million dollar note, with a tract on one side. We also have an Australian one http://onemilliontracts.com.au/Aussie-million-dollar-note I actually have one of these; it was handed to me by someone. The tract reads: Quote:
The million dollar question: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here's a quick test. Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, or used God's name in vain? Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Have you looked with lust? Will you be guilty on Judgment Day? If you have done those things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. The Bible warns that if you are guilty you will end up in Hell. That's not God's will. He sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for you. You broke God's Law, but Jesus paid your fine. That means He can legally dismiss your case. He can commute your death sentence: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Then He rose from the dead and defeated death. Please, repent (turn from sin) today and trust in Jesus alone, and God will grant you the gift of everlasting life. Then read your Bible daily and obey it. I thought that this might be good in some sort of bill switch routine, then hand out as a souvenier, but I'm not sure how effective this tract material is. I think for some people, it may be just a way of getting their backs up against Christianity. Although if presented well, and given in a pure friendly and loving manner, I think people are more likely to receive it positively. I was also concerned after reading this article: http://www.big3news.net/2009/10/14/the-m......lawsuit/ Quote:
In 2006, three United State Secret Service agents came to the headquarters of GNN (without a warrant) where they confiscated more than 8,300 religious tracts intended to share a Biblical message. It's just, they look so cool - who wouldn't want a million dollar note? What do people think? By the Way - Merry Christmas!

My friend MagicBob uses these with his "SlowBurn" bill switch- folded $1 bills change into folded $100 dollar bills. A video of MagicBob doing the basic effect is on both the video portion of MagicBob's website http://www.MagicBob.org and on one of our programs at http://www.ChristianMagician.org I have handed out the various bill tracts from Ray Comfort and http://www.LivingWaters.com for some time including the new Lincoln trillion dollar bill... Hey- with just four of those- we could pay off the national debt! I made up a "SlowBurn" set using these bills from LivingWaters-they work just fine. Merry Christmas everyone!

These are some of the best tracts that I've used. They are readily taken by most people. While I can see where some might get a little "ruffled" by what it says, that wouldn't change if it was spoken to them or presented in another way. The truth is that this is the truth and it's the only thing that can save people. Most people who are in sin don't want to hear it (I know that I didn't...).
That said, I think this is their third version. They also have some celebrity versions and some other tracts that get people thinking, including a magic related one called Mind Game... Merry Christmas!

I have many of the items from Living Waters. I primarily use their oversized $100. I find it is an easy way to get peoples attention (at street fairs), I do a Wonder land type effect with a biblical themed message.
I use their materials more as props for a message that I give, than for the message that is printed on them. I have the Grover Cleveland $1M that is pictured in the article, not the first link you gave, but the tract text seems to be the same. My opinion is that the text on their tracts is too many words, and I'm not sure if people will read them. But, as I said, I use them as props for my presentation, and am glad that they have at least someting that they can read latter. As far as the concern raised in the article, I'm surprised at that, but it is a sign of the times. As pointed out in the article, the bills should not be mistaken for legal tender - it says "not legal tender", and the feel is much slippery than real money (which is a problem for me trying to do a TT bill switch). I use a fake Canadian million dollar bill in both my regular and gospel stage shows, in a bill change effect. You can buy them at trick and joke shops. They are not tracts, and I don't give it away (I return their original bill to them).
The patter I use for my gospel presentation, relates to the Canadian money I borrow. I talk about how God cares when the sparrow falls to the ground (indicate the bird on the bill... not necessarily a sparrow, sometimes a duck, but the idea is there), and also talk about how God knows the number of hairs on our head (indicate the person on the bill... sometimes the Queen, sometimes a former Prime Minister). Reference: Matthew 10:28-30. I talk about how each person has worth, and that God knows all about us, and cares all about us. Sometimes we don't feel as though we are worth a lot, though. Then I change the bill, and talk about how whether we have five hairs on our head (or whatever number the bill is), or a million hairs on our heads, that God cares about us so much that He gave His one and only Son to die for us. Then I emphasise that we are worth more than a million dollars to God. That's the jist of the patter I've been using for years. I think it's my own. Then I reverse the change, and give the spectator back their bill. - Donald P.S. I once was doing this at a church in a community, and heard a powerful story afterwards. Apparently, there had been a teen suicide in that town, and some copycats (or attempts) afterwards. I didn't know of this at the time. Then I did that routine as a part of my show. The pastor asked the children and youth the next Sunday what they learned in my show, and they talked about how they learned that they were worth more than $1M to God. It made a powerful impact on those children and youth. God works in wonderful ways!

I did something similar for a VBS show. I took a dollar bill and a million dollar tract and explained to the kids that while we may not see ourselves as worth much, Christ dying for us shows that we're worth a million dollars. I also talked about how we may only seem like a dollar but when we get together, we make much more. Then I did a bill switch. The kids loved it. I did that for all three sessions.
I was talking to the mother of one of the girls two years later and found out that she was still trying to get the million to switch back...lol

I also recommend the coins(Ten Commandments). They are great for all kinds of coin tricks, especially Miser's Dream. Performing even simple vanishes and re-appearances and then give them away is something I do as well. They are great for the Muscle Pass where I have patter to go with it. I then go into a few vanishes and reappearances before giving it away.
