I am gearing up to restart SYM #016 here in Denver and would love smart tips any of you have for kicking it off to a really great start. I think we'll have 10 or so kids ranging from 10 to 16.

Hi, Chad -
This is GREATI news! I hope some of our SYM leaders will chime in. I don't have specific ideas on how to kick it off - keep it positive and fun, make the kids feel they have a stake in the assembly, whet their appetite for the future, and of course teach/do some magic. All in an hour - lol. I hope you have helpers & the parents are on board - get them to help, too - but that comes later. This is the time to pump them up! There is an SYM leaders forum on Yahoo - you might want to sign up for that. Good luck! Marlene Clark S.A.M. National Secretary Producer, Stars of Tomorrow Show |

Did you get the club up and running? |

We did not. It was a lot to bite off and I work as a full time magician. It comes up at every board meeting for the MHMS so it's still on the burner.

Hey Chad,
Let's start witht he basics.... Do you have a regular meeting place that won't charge you like a Library?? Do you have one or two other Magic inclined adults to help you??? Do you have copies of the SYM notebook theme effects that T. J. Staab sends out every month??? We started with about 5 of the SAM Adult Magicians to get it started then keep it going... Bill |

Chad, I wish you well on the start up. One of the most important things I beleive is to always have a theme for
each month. We allow our young people to come up with what they want to learn and then we plan for the whole year. Each month we aks that they perform something new or something they learned on a previous month. Have several volunteers to help also. Good Luck |
