Many performers of his day did the Cups and Balls. But is there any document we know of that tells us whether Fawkes (he of the Egg Bag) was a C&B man?
Thanks, Neil

A copy of Edwin Dawes's booklet on Isaac Fawkes, may be what you need. Also, http://www.magicbookshop.com/product_inf......id=14794 may yield better results.

I'm reasonably certain that Richard Evans will chime in on this.

Bill - do you read minds?
Neil: yes, Isaac Fawkes certainly did perform the cups and balls. Alan's excellent suggestion will give you an interesting read (no self-interest on my part, of course ). Several of Fawkes newspaper advertisements mention the cups and balls as part of his repertoire. The booklet shown in Alan's link also provides a transcript of a very interesting article about Fawkes - possibly written by Daniel Dafoe (he of Robinson Crusoe fame) that briefly refers to Fawkes and the cups and balls. Best Richard

Really interesting and well documented booklet. I enjoyed immensely reading this book (for I can't read minds).

Thank you Lawrence. I'm delighted you enjoyed it: that means a great deal to me coming from someone as knowledgeable and widely-read as yourself.
