Im looking for a very good trick that is somewhat artistic. If you know anything like this please tell me here. When I say artistic I mean something to do with colors, drawing, shapes, ect.
Please and thank you Joseph Shears |

One I have used is cardiographic. There is a take off on it I think is called Animal Crackers. The best one I have used is Mona Lisa2. A very elegant, if expensive, effect...

Axtell's drawing board is probably the classic in this area. You or a volunteer draw a face on the board, and it comes to life!

Sketch-o-Magic is a wonderful kids effect. I use a story about a police sketch artist mkaing up a face from partial descriptions.

Sands of the Desert; a classic magic effect - very visually artistic and nice with some classical music. Three colours of sand are poured into water and mixed up. The magician reaches into the water and magically removes each colour of sand one at a time, with the sand now dry and free flowing.

There was an Abbott's fanning deck called the Zinab deck that could be fanned blank on both sides and then with a few simple moves became a full-featured fanning deck. I incorporated an artist's palette into my presentation. One side of the palette had globs of color for creating the back design of the deck by touching a wand first to the palette and then to the deck; the other side had a bunch of miniature playing cards, faces showing, for making the faces appear on the fanning deck.
I imagine you can incorporate a similar presentation into a lot of other routines, like dying silks and the instant painting frame. Another idea I had was changing the coloring book idea into a book that can be shown blank, then shown to have black and white comic strip panels on each page, then colored comic strip panels. It was part of an idea I had for developing an act based on comic books with the intent of performing at comic book conventions. I never followed through on that idea. I sometimes did chalk talk with a black marker. Tarbell had a book on chalk talk that included some magical effects. I think Martin Lewis's Cardiographic evolved from a Tarbell chalk talk idea. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

If you use an assistant, you can paint the picture of her on canvas, and then produce the lady from behind it. as seen on that award show (world magic awards or something like that)
