Boy, I am glad I did not purchase the El Duco Card Sword, I was once very close at purchaseing one at a magic convention once. To find out they do not provide the gimmick is really shocking as El Duco had such a good reputation.

Put them on my not to trust Dealer list.

Since El Duco died in 2008, I think he found it a tad difficult to maintain a stock of elastic for these swords.

What one can do, is to email Gay Ljungberg who bought the remaining El Duco stock from the estate: magic@gycklaren.com
Either, ask Gay to obtain the same kind of elastic and keep it in stock, or ask him for a direct contact info to the guy who actually made the swords.

As Tom points out Christer Gustavsson died in 2008 and in 2009 we purchased the business from his estate. The manufacturing of the Card Sword was discontinued long time before that, already in the 90-ies. The Card Sword was marketed by El Duco, but designed and manufactured by Dag Johansen from Norway. Unfortunately there is no remaining stock and no notes of the origin of the elastic.

The Norwegian Magic Circle can probably assist in sharing the contact info to Dag Johansen: post@magiskecirkel.no

Just acquired an El Duco sword. Two questions.... does the hilt unscrew for rteplacing elastic thread, or for transporting ? I am afraid to try. The alternative for threading would be to thread it with the supplied feeder wire.

Question 2 - Dag Johansen of Norway is credited with being a maker of these swords. Mine is signed and numbered, but it says Danell of Norway '95. Are these one and the same ?
