Hi Mike,
Since first traveling to the US over ten years ago, I’ve watched our countries align quite a lot. Thanks to the internet things such as music, television, movies and language (slang etc) have merged into one. There’s very rarely something that you guys have that we don’t (with the exception of bail bonds, a president and Paris Hilton) and vice versa. With magic, there is only one major difference: weddings. In the UK, magicians perform at weddings as much as any other type of event. In America, magicians very, very rarely perform at weddings. That gives Americans a great advantage: there’s a completely untapped market there for you guys to take and control in the way that UK magicians have. American magicians often challenge that statement, but I remind them that magic didn’t just appear at weddings in the UK: some enterprising people capitalised on the market. Americans could do the same to give themselves a massive new market. How do you feel our countries differ, Mike? --Andi

Is this at the reception? Just before the wedding or the rehearsal dinner...what kind of fee can be expected for this venue?

Hi Mike,
It depends from client to client. The times that I recommend, however, are either during the photographs (performing walkaround magic for about an hour and a half) or during the meal, where I perform for each table. This normally takes two hours. The fees also vary. I charge a similar amount to what I charge for a corporate event. --Andi
