I'm working with a deck marked with the Farmarx system. Should I just stay away from riffle shuffles entirely to avoid the possibility of someone seeing some 'movement'?

Shuffling cards should be a non-event. Talk to your audience as you shuffle. Act casual, after all you're just shuffling the cards.
Magic is a vanishing art.

Just never draw attention to it as you do it, nor when you review events (such as, 'If you'll remember, I shuffled the cards'). You must know how to (false) shuffle and cut well enough to never look at your hands as you do them: that's critical to achieving 'casual'. |
