Has anyone ever seen an effect where the cards are fairly shuffled. Spec. selects any card and puts it behind their back. Magician has had his back turned while selection is being made. Then he turns to the deck but NEVER looks at it. Cases the deck with head tilted away. Then is able to tell the selected card. All 52 cards are there. free choice????????????????

Well... a few questions that will need to be answered before I can definitely say what is happening.
-Is the deck in plain view at all time? Does the magician ever place it behind his back? -how do you know the deck is fairly shuffled? Is it spectator shuffled? -Is the magician holding the cards while the spectator makes the selection? If so it was probably a classic force. Yeah so provide us with that info and we should be able to at least make an educated guess as to what happened. I have a feeling that this is something really simple just presented well, there is a force somewhere in it, probably a classic force or a one way deck that is switched. |

Thanks r4bid, Yes we are going deep into the unknown. This is a normal deck (with a little something) the cards are fairly shuffled (yes) the deck is then placed in front of the spec. He can then cut to any card, or the cards can be spread out, either way the card is selected while my back is turned. Then in full view of the spec. the cards are gathered and boxed while my head is turned away. I will feel for the cards then case them. Then I can tell them the card they picked. NOW the reason I ask, I have a method to do this, BUT I have heard of someone having the same Idea. Have you ever heard of it?

Hmmmm I am baffled. Just don't have enough energy left to put any serious brain power towards solving this, sounds very intriging though. So there is a gimmick? I would love to know how the effect is acheived.

Larry Becker has an effect that sounds pretty close to what you are describing on one of his videos.

Yup, check out Larry Becker's work. Or, a short card, breather crimp, key card, etc. (catch their eyes during patter, and they'll never know.)
