Not hugely challenging interviews, everything was "Awesome".
However what was great was getting to know the personalities behind some of the biggest purveyors of magic and I thought everybody cam across particularly well, especially Mark Mason. Good show. |

So your yikes comment is right on the $. In the mind of the spectator, what is so different between this and "Porn In Your Pants" by David Regal? The question here is, are we trying to buy a cool toy or entertain people? |

David took a stab at Will Tsai by saying "Will Tsai thinks he invented that" when speaking to Shawn Farquhar about producing an item from a photo. Will credits many people on the Photoshop DVD INCLUDING Shawn Farquhar for MatriXpress. In fact, MatriXpress has an entire paragraph on the DVD, and I quote;
"MatriXpress by Shawn Farquhar involves poker chips magically travel[sic] from underneath the photos and also materialize from the photos. Our good friend Shawn's routine is ingenious. Highly recommended if you haven't picked it up! MatriXpress DVD by Shawn Farquhar.2011 which can also be found in his "Bread and butter" CD-ROM lecture note" Will Tsai also credits MANY other people including the routines they use and where to find it. I sometimes wonder if David just says random things with no basis for fact. This is certainly the case here and I think Will Tsai deserves an apology. James

If I remember correctly, Dave and Will are friends; they introduced me to him at the convention.

With friends like that who needs enemies?

I guess it is all in the interpretation. Considering that Will IS mentioned in the DVD and that Farquhar also discusses it in his interview in a friendly tone, it all looked kosher to me. |

Just to make one thing clear, you said †I sometimes wonder if David just says random things with no basis for fact.†Well I do but most of the time it’s not to cause offence, it’s just the nature of our show. Like you did, most people make up there own minds. It will happen again! Believe me if I had Will and Shawn in a bar together I would have no problem ribbing Will about the very same thing. He would probably tell me where I could stick a copy of photoshop and we would have another drink. We had a great time with both of those guys at the convention and Will is a gentleman. If I caused offence to you though James, I sincerely apologise. All the best Dave

David,
No offence to me. I just thought that saying "Will Tsai thinks he invented that effect" was a bit inflammatory. Lots of other threads already accusing Will of stealing others ideas. Anyway, had no idea you were friends, sorry about the mix up. James Ps Will's crediting is actually wrong, it is Photofinish not MatriXpress that should be credited. I like the Show! The Mark Mason Wallet is very good! I'm not a big fan of "Wallet Magic" but this one look interesting, the routine is quite good and thinking like a magician the method was extremely clever.
Is always good to see Paul Harris talking about his new products in "Paul Harris Presents" and indeed Mark Mason show to us that actually he sell anything! ( I hope he does a second production of that sand, I want one! ) -H
