I've said it before, get Smoke and Mirrors by Bannon. It is just out of print so you should be able to find some in some shops.
I also really like Focus, if you like packet effects. Some require gaffs others require cards from a different deck. The effects are great. |

I've just got Smoke and Mirrors and I'm gobsmacked with the effects, they are fantastic. Get this book you won't be disappointed, I performed Heart of the City last night and I've never received a reaction like that before.

Smoke and Mirrors is just out of print. Some dealers should have their last copies. Look around, real hard. It is the best book of effects I own.

I assume you are talking about card magic books.
Here are some that have great effects in them. I list one effect from each as an example but these books have many great items: Close Up Card Magic (Lorayne), Out of This Universe Card Conspiracy I and II, (Duffie), CATO effects Star Quality (Regal), Cheating The Complete Works of Derek Dingle, Rollover Aces Trendsetters (Harry Lorayne), The Equalizer Scams and Fantasies (Ortiz), Combination Cull Stars of Magic, Triumph |

I do like the way Original Count Elmsley did this, so I wish to do the same. I don't have the library he does, but here we go.
Smoke and Mirrors - Tontoid, Heart of the City, Boogie Woogie Aces Constant Fooling 1 - On Call (Even though I didn't like the rest of the book as much as everyone else, this effect is great) Close up and Personal - Joker works overtime Works of Dingle - All Backs, Slow Motion Aces (I'm not a fan of Rollover Aces, too much shuffling to be entertaining. Then again, if I put in the hours of practice it takes to get good at it, I would have to like it, or I wasted hours of time) Focus - A Fine Mesh, Masque, Brimstone Elevator, Backgammon Classic Magic of Jennings - Visitor, The Homing Card |

Stars of Magic - Travelers, Spellbound, Chink-A-Chink, Homing Card, Coins To Glass, Triumph, Watch Steal, Do As I Do, Cutting The Aces, Cards Up The Sleeves.
This is the best book for the money out there and everyone should have it. |
