I recently saw a Youtube clip of someone performing a version of a walking through a giant fan illusion and now I can't find it.
Can anyone here help me relocate it? It wasn't with the usual 'Windshear' prop where you pass through the top half of the fan. It was a giant fan, maybe 6foot or more tall, square on to the audience, a white screen is placed in front of it and the shadow of the spinning fan can be seen. The performer moves behind and passes their hand and then their entire body through the fan and out through the white lycra screen. Copperfield had a similar version where he passed through with the fan sideways on to the audience but this youtube clip wasn't of Copperfield or his version of this effect. Can anyone shed any light on what this illusion is? or who's it is? or who I might have seen performing it? or what youtube clip it was? Many thanks in advance for any help in tracking this down.

Andrea Cole invented the huge horizontal fan that he stood in while the blades were revolving. I seen it live by Andrea, a real mystery! Not familiar with a walking through a huge fan illusion.
Your explaination does beg the question how a 6 foot revolving fan, could not blow a white screen out of the way? Must not have has it on full force. |

I can sure tell you who built it or at least who can build the best prop. EDF Magic Eric Olsen and John Uhern are the best I am fairly certain that they built steve wyricks. They are great builders but on top of that great guys.

I worked as a stagehand on Copperfield's show when he did the Giant Fan illusion. That was a fantastic lesson in stage choreography, and timing! I am still in awe of those performers including DC! An absolutely flawless performance!
