Hey all~
I'm doing a silk fountain and currently I end with a jumbo US flag. There are some shows where that simply doesn't make sense. Can anyone suggest a good looking jumbo silk that would either say "Thank you" (most of these I've seen so far are not very attractive) or perhaps something with a classy pattern. I've decided against the dove finish as well as a streamer silk but I'm open to other ideas. Any recommendations appreciated |

Mike,
Ever considered ending with a production of a Line-of-Silks? It allows you to use the whole stage and produce 113.78 square feet of colorful silk with the 24" size. Ending with a 36" square silk is only 9 square feet of the silk and even the 6' square silk production is only 72 square feet of silk and does not use much of the stage. (It's even cheaper $120!) The 18" size is 7X the production size of a 36" square silk. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Bob sells a "Goodbye" silk that is really beautiful. I know they come in 36" size because I have one. I don't know if you want one larger than that or not, but 36" is a nice size for a fountain finale.

I make tie dyes from 18" to 90". I don't know what exactly you are looking for size or design wise.

Thanks for the replies so far! I think a line is a great idea to fill a stage but I'm a one man act and if I use this as a closer I need to be the only one on stage. I'd love to see a good bye silk...Bob do you have a link for it? I might go with a tie dye Richard could you PM me some idea of prices? 36" is the smallest I would go 60" the largest.

Go to David Ginn's website, and then click on the "Silk Tricks" link on the side menu. He offers a whole variety of picture silks in larger sizes (butterfly, clown, happy elephant, peacock explosion, rabbit ta-da are just some of the silks). Some silks on that page are 36", some are 45", and some are 72" (6').
- Donald P.S. I have a 6' tie-dye silk that Richard Hughes made for me, that I use in my shows. It's beautiful!

Another little trick you can add to this with the Crystal Silk Cylinder is to tie a 36" "The End" or "Thank You" silk to the very end of the Line of Silk load. It allows you to move away from your table and take a bow.

You don't need an assistant for the line of silks, pennants, banners or flags. You hand the end to someone in the audience and have them walk towards the back of the room as you produce the individual silks one by one OR you walk to the back of the audience, hand the end to someone and then you walk back to the stage releasing the silks one by one as you go and end up on stage.

I thought about sewing tiny rinds at intervals on the line so that I could hang them from props or tables that I have onstage (I'd put hooks on them staggered.) That way I could go back and forth to make a "wall" behind me - I also plan on writing "Thank You" on the silks - one letter per silk - so the message is visible at the end. I think it will make a great finishing picture

Richard and Bob are two of the best silk guys I know on this board...
As an aside, Richard, as I understand it, makes some of the best feather flowers in the world!
