Hi Doug,
I really enjoyed you book on Coin Box magic. I was wondering what your favorite type of coin box is to use, as well as the routine you like doing the most with it? Craig

I use the Jim Zee and Roth boxes almost exclusively now. For one thing, they can accommadate a shell and the Johnson Products version does not. The lid on the Zee boxes is a quieter for my Lid Load Manuever, but I have used the Roth boxes too, I just have to be a little more careful.
I use different routines at different times. For a long time I was doing the Flying Stupendas routine. Brass Trio was another I did frequently. Right now I am using Box Through Hand a lot because it's kind of a fast routine, and makes a nice opener. However, they all kind of move in and out of my working repertoire. I really like Tom Stone's ring and box routine and Chad Long's reversembly routine too. So much to do with them! |

Hi Doug,
What would be your favorite coin box (gimmicked or ungimmicked) routine to perform? Tom |

The Flying Stupendas is an excellent routine.

Hi Tom: My favorite kind of moves in and out of my repertoire depending on my mood
Methodologically (is that a word?) speaking, I really get a kick out of Chad's routine, and my own Flying Stupenda's routine. For direct effect, just a smack of magic over the head, the Box Thru Hand is one of my favorites (it's also pretty cool to perform for method). |
