Every performer changes over time. Both in style and personality. This is one of the harder lessons to learn about 'show business'. Alot of people have suffered from this inability to 'shift images' or 'keep up with the times'. Usually because fame has been thrust upon them so quickly that they don't have time to figure out why they became famous and so can't figure out how to stay famous. Do you ever contemplate these things? And if so do you think figuring this out at such an early age gives you an edge on your competition? Also, how do you see yourself evolving over the next few years?

Wow, great question. I’m not sure I have any insight to give you here, other than the things I’ve sprinkled in other responses.
I don’t give my “image” as much thought as I should. I think constantly about my character, which in my mind is one step more specific. Image, to me, is the impression you leave your audience with. Character is more about how you handle certain effects—your style. I talked about my change in style, in passing from boy to teen to man. It’s still changing and I’m enjoying that. Perhaps I’ll have more on that in ten years… Good question, Josh |
